Vehicle components are continuously exposed to vibration during operation, making vibration testing an essential step for durability evaluation. Vibration test fixtures play a critical role in ensuring accurate dynamic response measurements; however, conventional fixtures often exhibit low natural frequencies and excessive mass, which can lead to resonance. These limitations highlight the need for a design approach that simultaneously enhances dynamic performance while minimizing structural weight. Therefore, this study proposes an optimization framework to increase the natural frequency of a vibration test fixture. The proposed method consists of two main stages. First, a finite element model is generated using a fixed-grid method of the design space. Second, optimization is performed based on the initial fixed-grid model. The design variables are the rib surface and rib height. The objective function is defined to maximize the natural frequency, subject to a mass constraint on the fixture. A genetic algorithm is used to iteratively update the design variables, as it is well suited for optimization problems involving discrete design spaces. Since fixed-grid-based optimization repeatedly modifies design variables on a fixed grid, the proposed method can be efficiently solved using a genetic algorithm. Additionally, numerical validation was conducted, and the optimized model was quantitatively compared with the conventional optimized model. As a result, the proposed method exhibited stable convergence within a maximum of 45 generations. In the early generations, the global structural topology was primarily established, whereas in later generations, fine adjustments of individual ribs resulted in a stable convergence pattern. As a result, the optimized fixed-grid fixture achieved a mass of 113.5 kg and a fundamental natural frequency of 496.8 Hz, compared with 143.4 kg and 485.7 Hz for the reference model. Accordingly, the optimized design reduced the mass by 26.5% while increasing the natural frequency by 2.30%. In terms of computational performance, the proposed method required an elapsed time of 6.5 hours, whereas the conventional approach took approximately 15 hours. Consequently, the proposed framework improved computational efficiency by 56.7% relative to the conventional method.

A vibration test fixture is a structure that fixes the component under test and transmits vibrations generated during testing. Bolt fastening, one of the fixture's fastening methods, plays a crucial role in fixing the structure and transmitting vibrations. Since bolted joints significantly influence the dynamic characteristics of the structure, they are critical for dynamic performance analysis and behavior prediction. Because vibration test fixtures consist of thin plate structures, they are advantageous for analysis using shell models. However, there is a lack of research implementing bolt fastening conditions within fixture shell models. Therefore, this study aims to first construct a simple shell model and, based on it, implement and verify bolt fastening conditions.

진동 시험용 지그는 시험 대상 부품을 고정하고 시험 중 발생하는 진동을 전달하는 구조물이다. 지그의 체결 방식 중 하나인 볼트 체결은 구조물의 고정과 진동 전달에 중요한 역할을 한다. 이때 볼트 접합부는 구조물의 동적 특성에 큰 영향을 미치므로 동적 성능 분석 및 거동 예측에 매우 중요하다. 진동 시험용 지그는 얇은 판 구조로 구성되어 있기 때문에, 쉘 모델을 활용한 해석에 유리하다. 그러나 지그의 쉘 모델에서 볼트 체결 조건을 구현한 연구는 충분하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 우선 간단한 쉘 모델을 구성하고, 이를 바탕으로 볼트 체결 조건을 구현 및 검증하고자 한다.

The frame of an underwater walking robot is a critical structure that supports external forces and handling loads in the seabed operating environment. During actual operation, this structure is subjected to complex load conditions, such as mechanical loads caused by external forces as well as handling loads generated during the launch and recovery process. These load conditions are known to be critical factors directly linked to the structural safety of the frame. Previous research has primarily focused on analyzing structural behavior under general operating loads or simple load conditions, and studies on structural analysis considering handling load conditions are relatively lacking. Therefore, this seminar aims to perform stress analysis of the underwater walking robot frame under handling load conditions and evaluate its structural safety.

수중 보행 로봇 프레임은 해저 작업 환경에서 외력과 취급 하중을 지지하는 핵심 구조물이다. 이러한 구조물은 실제 운용 과정에서 외부 하중에 의한 기계적 하중뿐만 아니라, 투입 및 회수 과정(launch and recovery)에서 발생하는 취급 하중과 같은 복합적인 하중 조건을 동시에 받게 된다. 이러한 하중 조건은 프레임의 구조 안전성과 직결되는 중요한 요소로 알려져 있다. 현재까지의 연구는 주로 일반 운용 하중이나 단순 하중 조건에서의 구조적 거동을 분석하는 데 초점을 두었으며, 취급 하중 조건을 고려한 구조 해석 연구는 상대적으로 부족한 상황이다. 따라서 본 세미나는 취급 하중 조건에서 수중 보행 로봇 프레임의 응력 해석을 수행하고 구조 안전성을 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

Generally, the process of preparing and submitting a paper for publication is complex. In our case, an additional and crucial step is required: obtaining the advisor’s approval. This requirement has recently become increasingly important for meeting graduation criteria. Accordingly, this presentation suggests several effective writing strategies for facilitating a smoother revision process with one’s advisor. First, authors should clearly identify the type of paper they intend to write. Second, they should write the topic sentence of each paragraph first and then develop the paragraph around it. Third, they should use concise sentences. Fourth, they should avoid unnecessarily ornate expressions. These strategies, however, are not universally mandatory. They are based on the presenter’s own experience and are expected to help expedite the advisor’s approval process.

일반적으로 논문을 작성하여 투고하기까지는 복잡한 과정을 거친다. 특히 우리는 지도교수의 승인이라는 중요한 절차를 추가로 거쳐야 한다. 이러한 절차는 최근 졸업 요건을 충족하기 위해 더욱 중요하게 부각되고 있다. 따라서 지도교수와의 원활한 논문 수정 과정을 위해 효율적인 논문 작성 전략을 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 저자는 자신이 작성하고자 하는 논문의 유형을 명확히 이해해야 한다. 둘째, 문단의 핵심 문장을 먼저 작성한 뒤, 이를 뒷받침하는 내용으로 문단을 구성해야 한다. 셋째, 간결한 문장을 사용해야 한다. 넷째, 과도하게 수식된 문장은 지양해야 한다. 다만 이러한 전략이 반드시 필수적인 것은 아니다. 본 발표에서 제시하는 전략은 발표자의 경험에 근거한 것이며, 이를 통해 지도교수의 논문 승인 절차를 보다 효율적으로 진행할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

A vibration test fixture is a structure that fixes the part to be tested and transmits the vibration generated during the test. One of the fastening methods of fixture is the bolted joint which plays an important role in fixing the structure and transmitting vibration. Since the vibration test device is made of a thin plate structure, it is advantageous for analysis using a shell model. However there is insufficient verification of how to implement bolt fastening conditions in analysis using the shell model. Therefore this study aims to implement bolt fastening conditions in a shell model of a fixture for vibration testing and evaluate its dynamic characteristics. 

진동 시험용 지그는 시험 대상 부품을 고정하고 시험 중 발생하는 진동을 전달하는 구조물이다. 지그의 체결 방식 중 하나인 볼트 체결 방식은 구조물을 고정하고 진동을 전달하는 중요한 역할을 한다. 진동 시험용 지그는 얇은 판 구조로 구성되어 있기 때문에, 쉘 모델을 활용한 해석에 유리하다. 그러나 쉘 모델을 이용한 해석에서 볼트 체결 조건을 구현하는 방법에 대한 검증이 충분하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 진동 시험용 지그의 쉘 모델에서 볼트 체결 조건을 구현하고 동특성을 평가하고자 한다.

Modal analysis of a fixture is a method used to evaluate vibration characteristics by identifying the natural frequencies and mode shapes of a structure. A vibration test fixture generally has a large size and a complex geometry, so evaluation of dynamic characteristics is required to prevent structural resonance. In fixture analysis, solid finite element models are commonly used, but they have the disadvantage of high computational cost and long analysis time. On the other hand, shell models have high computational efficiency, but their accuracy has not been sufficiently verified. Therefore, in this study, the mode shapes, natural frequencies, and analysis time of shell and solid models were compared under the same geometric condition, and criteria for model selection were examined. 

지그 구조의 모드 해석은 구조물의 고유진동수와 모드 형상을 확인하여 진동 특성을 평가하는 방법이다. 진동 시험용 지그는 크기와 질량이 크고 복합적인 형상을 가지기 때문에 구조 공진을 방지하기 위한 동특성 평가가 필요하다. 일반적으로 지그 해석에는 솔리드 유한요소 모델이 사용되지만 계산 비용이 크고 해석 시간이 길다는 단점이 있다. 반면 쉘 모델은 계산 효율이 높지만 정확성에 대한 검토가 충분하지 않다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 동일 형상 조건에서 쉘 모델과 솔리드 모델의 모드형상, 고유진동수, 해석시간을 비교해 모델 선택을 위한 기준을 제시하고자 한다.

Bone scaffolds are artificial structures designed to support bone tissue growth. Ideally, a bone scaffold should provide appropriate mechanical properties for the implant site and evenly transmit external loads to the surrounding tissue. These scaffolds are inserted into bone defects and secured using a dedicated adhesive rather than a self-fitting method. Since the load is transmitted to the scaffold through the adhesive, it is crucial to understand how the stress distribution within the scaffold varies depending on the anchorage. In particular, because the load transfer path can vary depending on the size of the anchorage, it is necessary to determine the variation in stress distribution according to the size of the anchorage. Therefore, this study aims to compare and analyze the stress distribution according to the size of the scaffold anchorage, thereby deriving appropriate anchorage design criteria.

골용 스캐폴드는 뼈 조직 성장을 지원하도록 설계된 인공 구조물입니다. 이상적인 골용 스캐폴드는 이식 부위에 따라 적절한 기계적 특성을 제공하고, 외부에서 가해지는 하중을 주변 조직에 고르게 전달해야 합니다. 이러한 스캐폴드는 뼈에 형성된 결손부위에 삽입되는 형태로, 끼워 맞춤 방식이 아닌 전용 접착제를 이용해 고정됩니다. 이때 접착제를 통해 스캐폴드에 하중이 전달되므로, 고정부에 의해 스캐폴드의 응력 분포가 어떻게 달라지는지 파악하는 것은 매우 중요합니다. 특히 고정부의 크기에 따라 하중 전달 경로가 변할 수 있으므로, 고정부 크기에 따른 응력 분포 변화를 확인할 필요가 있습니다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 스캐폴드 고정부 크기에 따른 응력 분포를 비교·분석하고, 이를 통해 적절한 고정부 설계 기준을 도출하고자 합니다.

The researcher previously submitted a paper titled “Optimization of a Vibration Fixture for Improved Natural Frequency and Lightweight Design.” The manuscript received a total of 13 comments from three reviewers. The response letter is currently being prepared, but it has been challenging to address the many comments raised from different perspectives. This seminar will introduce the review results and explain in detail how the responses to each comment were organized. In addition, through this seminar, the researcher hopes to share valuable experiences from the peer-review process with the attendees.

본 연구자는Optimization of a vibration fixture for improved natural frequency and lightweight design 주제로 논문을 투고한 바 있음. 해당 논문은 3명의 리뷰어로부터 총 13개의 논평을 받음. 현재 답변을 작성하고 있으며, 다양한 관점에서 제기된 다수의 의견들로 인해 답변 작성에 어려움을 겪고 있음. 본 세미나는 심사 결과에 대한 소개와 함께, 각 논평에 대한 답변 정리 과정을 상세히 설명하고 함.  또한, 본 세미나를 통해 이를 통해 참석자들에게 논문 심사 과정에서의 경험을 공유하고자 함. 

Vibration test fixtures are structures used to secure vehicle headlamps to vibration testers. As headlamps become larger, fixtures also become larger, leading to problems such as reduced natural frequencies and increased weight. Some fixtures consist of multiple ribs connected by bolts. For analysis efficiency, bolted joints need to be implemented in the shell model. Therefore, we aim to reproduce dynamic characteristics considering bolted joint conditions in the fixture shell model. We will share the current status of our research and future plans in this area.

진동 시험용 지그는 차량용 램프를 진동 시험기에 고정하기 위한 구조물이다. 헤드램프의 대형화에 따라 지그도 커지고 있으며, 고유진동수 감소와 무게가 증가하는 문제점이 발생한다. 몇몇 지그는 여러 리브가 볼트로 연결된 체결 구조로 구성됨. 해석의 효율성을 위해 쉘 모델에서도 볼트 체결을 구현할 필요가 있다. 따라서 지그의 쉘 모델에서 볼트 체결 조건을 고려한 동특성을 재현하고자 하며, 이에 대한 연구 진행 현황과 향후 연구 계획을 공유하고자 한다.

Fixture modal analysis is a method for identifying the natural frequencies and mode shapes of an object. Jigs are typically subject to modal analysis due to their large size and weight, making them susceptible to vibration. Solid models are typically used for jigs, but their analysis time is long. Shell models, on the other hand, offer shorter analysis times but offer less accurate results. The purpose of this study was to compare the characteristics of solid and shell models in jig modal analysis. The shell shape was constructed based on the optimal design results, and a solid model was created by applying thickness to the same shape. The two models were subjected to identical analysis conditions, and their first mode shapes, natural frequencies, and analysis times were compared. While the shell model exhibited higher natural frequencies under the same conditions, the solid model also exhibited higher natural frequencies due to mass removal. Furthermore, the shell model exhibited shorter analysis times, and the mode shapes were similar between the two models. This study aims to provide criteria for model selection in jig modal analysis.

지그 모드 해석은 물체의 고유진동수와 모드 형상을 확인하는 방법이다. 지그는 크기와 무게가 커 진동의 영향을 받기 쉬워 대표적인 모드 해석 대상 구조물이다. 지그는 일반적으로 솔리드 모델이 사용되지만 해석 시간이 길다. 반면 쉘 모델은 해석 시간이 짧으나 정확성은 명확하지 않다. 본 연구의 목적은 지그 모드 해석에서 솔리드 모델과 쉘 모델의 특성을 비교하는 것이다. 쉘 형상은 최적설계 결과를 기반으로 구성하고, 동일 형상에 두께를 부여해 솔리드 모델을 생성하였다. 두 모델에는 동일한 해석 조건을 적용한 뒤, 1차 모드 형상과 고유진동수, 해석 시간을 비교하였다. 쉘 모델은 동일 조건에서 높은 고유진동수를 보였으나, 솔리드 모델이 질량 제거에 따라 더 높은 고유진동수를 나타내는 경우도 확인되었다. 또한 쉘 모델은 해석 시간이 짧았으며, 모드 형상은 두 모델 간 유사하게 나타났다. 본 연구는 지그 모드 해석에서 모델 선택을 위한 기준을 제시하고자 한다. 

The cabinet, which is an exterior component of a washing machine, is an assembly constructed through an interference-fit joining method and thus involves uncertainty in its contact conditions. This uncertainty makes it difficult to define contact conditions in the analysis that accurately reflect the behavior of the real structure, thereby reducing the correlation between experimental and analytical results. To address this issue, it is important to identify contact regions that can reproduce behavior similar to that of the actual structure. Therefore, this seminar aims to develop a genetic-algorithm-based contact region identification framework, validate it using a simplified model, and finally apply it to a washing machine cabinet to identify contact regions that achieve high correlation with experimental results. 

세탁기의 외관 부품인 Cabinet은 끼워맞춤 방식으로 조립되는 조립체로서, 접촉 조건의 불확실성을 가진다. 이러한 불확실성은 해석 과정에서 실제 구조물과 유사한 접촉 조건을 구현하는 데 어려움을 발생시켜 실험과 해석 간의 정합성을 저하시킨다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 실제 구조물과 유사한 거동을 재현할 수 있는 접촉부 영역을 탐색하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 본 세미나에서는 유전 알고리즘 기반의 접촉부 탐색 프레임워크를 구축하고, 이를 단순 모델에 적용하여 검증한 후, 최종적으로 세탁기 Cabinet에 적용함으로써 실험과 높은 정합성을 갖는 접촉부 영역을 탐색하는 것을 목표로 한다.

The vehicle component is exposed to continuous vibration in driving environments. To ensure its durability, a vibration test is essential in the product development process. In particular, a vibration test fixture is used to secure the test target to the vibration tester during the testing procedure. This fixture is designed to protect the test target from the impact and vibration it experiences. However, when the natural frequency of the test fixture matches the test frequency range, resonance occurs, which limits the accuracy of the durability evaluation. Therefore, there is a need for a design approach that maximizes the natural frequency of the test fixture. This study proposes an optimization method to maximize the natural frequency of the vibration test fixture. The proposed method consists of two steps. Firstly, a finite element model is constructed based on a fixed grid. Secondly, optimization is performed using the constructed model. The design variables are the height and the existence of a rib. The objective function is to maximize the natural frequency, with a constraint on the mass of the test fixture. A genetic algorithm was used to update each design variable. Additionally, the optimized model was quantitatively compared with the conventional optimized model. As a result, the study derived a domed form of the vibration test fixture for a single optimization process. The optimized model improved the natural frequency by approximately 2.30% and reduced the mass by approximately 25.45% compared to the conventional optimized model.

차량 부품은 주행 환경에서 지속적인 진동에 노출됩니다. 내구성을 확보하기 위해서는 제품 개발 과정에서 진동 시험이 필수적입니다. 특히, 진동 시험 과정에서 시험 대상을 진동 시험기에 고정하기 위해 진동 시험 지그가 사용됩니다. 이 지그는 시험 대상이 받는 충격과 진동을 보호하도록 설계되었습니다. 그러나 시험 지그의 고유 진동수가 시험 주파수 범위와 일치할 경우 공진이 발생하여 내구성 평가의 정확도가 저하됩니다. 따라서 시험 지그의 고유 진동수를 최대화하는 설계 방식이 필요합니다. 본 연구에서는 진동 시험 지그의 고유 진동수를 최대화하는 최적화 방법을 제안합니다. 제안된 방법은 두 단계로 구성됩니다. 첫째, 고정 격자를 기반으로 유한 요소 모델을 구축합니다. 둘째, 구축된 모델을 이용하여 최적화를 수행합니다. 설계 변수는 높이와 보강 리브의 유무입니다. 목적 함수는 시험 지그의 질량에 대한 제약 조건 하에서 고유 진동수를 최대화하는 것입니다. 각 설계 변수는 유전 알고리즘을 이용하여 업데이트했습니다. 또한, 최적화된 모델과 기존의 최적화 모델을 정량적으로 비교했습니다. 그 결과, 본 연구에서는 단일 최적화 과정을 통해 돔형 진동 시험 장치를 도출했습니다. 최적화된 모델은 기존 최적화 모델에 비해 고유 진동수를 약 2.30% 향상시키고 질량을 약 25.45% 감소시켰습니다.

Topology optimization is widely used to lighten structures and improve performance, but it has limitations when applied to real geometries due to design-domain constraints, convergence issues, and increased computational cost. In contrast, DSO adjusts the design space itself, exploring both structural shape and material distribution simultaneously, offering better computational efficiency and shorter solution time than traditional Topology optimization compare the two methods accurately, an understanding of their concepts, application procedures, and resulting outputs is required. In this seminar, we examined the differences between TO and DSO and analyzed how their results change when applied to the same problem. This comparison helps identify the strengths and limitations of each method and is expected to support future paper development.

위상최적설계는 구조물의 경량화와 성능 향상을 위한 대표적인 기법으로 활용되고 있다. 그러나 설계영역의 제약, 수렴 문제, 계산 비용 증가 등으로 인해 실제 구조물 형상에 적용할 때 한계를 가진다. 반면 DSO는 설계공간 자체를 조정하여 구조의 형태와 재료를 분포를 동시에 탐색하는 방식으로, 기존 위상최적설계 방식보다 계산 효율성과 시간이 단축되는 장점을 가진다. 두 방법을 정확히 비교하기 위해서는 각각의 개념의 이해와 적용 방식등 결과 분석이 필요하다. 이에 본 세미나에서는 TO와 DSO의 차이를 분석하고, 동일한 문제에 두 기법을 적용했을 때 나타나는 결과 차이를 분석하였다. 이를 통해 각 방법의 장점과 한계를 파악하고, 향후 논문을 작성할때 도움이 되고자 한다.

PowerPoint is most widely used software for creating presentations, helping you communicate your content more effectively to your audience through visual representation. However many users often use only basic functions or rely on their senses when creating presentation produce. Because of this, there are limits in implementing efficient work and high-level design. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce practical PowerPoint features and demonstrate effective ways to utilize them, thereby reducing user’s work time and improving the quality of their presentations.

파워포인트는 발표 자료 제작에 가장 널리 사용되는 소프트웨어로, 시각적 표현을 통해 내용을 청중에게 더욱 효과적으로 전달할 수 있도록 돕는다. 그러나 많은 사용자들이 발표 자료 제작을 할 때 기본적인 기능만 활용하거나 감각에 의존하여, 자료를 구성하는 경우가 많다. 이 때문에 효율적인 작업과 높은 수준의 디자인을 구현하는 데 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 세미나는 파워포인트의 실용적인 기능을 소개하고 이를 효과적으로 활용하는 방법을 제시함으로써, 사용자들의 작업 시간을 단축하고 발표 자료의 완성도를 향상시키고자 한다.

Vibration test jig design employs optimization to meet constraints on natural frequency and mass. However, conventional stepwise optimization requires excessive analysis time. To address this, we propose a variable grid optimization method. This method retains the advantages of a fixed grid while treating grid spacing as a design variable, enabling diverse topology exploration with fewer design variables. A genetic algorithm is used to simultaneously satisfy natural frequency and mass requirements. Results showed that the proposed method can achieve a lighter jig while maintaining the target natural frequency and reducing analysis time. These findings confirm that VG-based optimization is effective for headlamp vibration test jig design and suggest its utility as a practical tool for a broad range of future jig design problems.

진동 시험용 지그 설계는 고유진동수 및 질량 제약조건을 만족시키기 위해 최적설계방법이 적용되고 있다. 다만, 기존 최적설계 기법은 여러 단계의 절차로 해석 시간이 과도하게 소요되는 한계가 있다. 본 연구는 이를 해결하기 위해 가변 그리드기반 최적설계 방법을 제안한다. 이는 고정 그리드의 특징을 활용하여 설계변수를 감소시키고, 그리드 간격을 변수로 설정하여 다양한 위상을 탐색하였다. 또한, 유전 알고리즘을 활용하여 고유진동수와 질량 조건을 동시에 만족하는 설계를 탐색하였다. 이를 기존 최적설계 방법으로 설계된 지그와 비교하여 고유진동수, 질량, 해석 시간을 정량적으로 평가하였다. 그 결과, 제안한 방법은 기존 방법 대비 고유진동수를 유지하면서 가벼운 지그를 설계할 수 있었고, 해석 시간 또한 단축되었다. 이를 통해 가변 그리드 기반 최적설계 방법이 헤드램프 진동 시험용 지그 설계에 효과적으로 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 접근법은 향후 다양한 진동 시험 지그 설계 문제 해결을 위한 유용한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Bone scaffolds are artificial structures used to repair damaged bone tissue. These structures temporarily replace the damaged area and are absorbed by the body over time, replacing it with healthy bone tissue. During the healing process, mechanical mismatch between the scaffold and surrounding bone can result in stress shielding or fracture. This study aims to optimize the porous structure and implantation angle of patient-specific bone scaffolds based on biomechanical conditions. The finite element model of the proximal femur was constructed, and scaffold implantation sites were defined. Subsequently, the structural behavior was analyzed, and the porous structure and implantation angle were optimized based on this analysis. The results indicate that optimal scaffold parameters vary depending on the implantation site. Optimized scaffolds showed improved mechanical adaptability to external loads, emphasizing the need for site-specific scaffold design.

골 스캐폴드는 손상된 골 조직을 복구하는 데 사용되는 인공 구조물입니다. 이러한 구조물은 손상된 부위를 일시적으로 대체하고 시간이 지남에 따라 체내에 흡수되어 건강한 골 조직으로 대체됩니다. 치유 과정에서 스캐폴드와 주변 골 사이의 기계적 불일치는 응력 차폐 또는 골절을 초래할 수 있습니다. 본 연구의 목적은 환자 맞춤형 골 스캐폴드의 다공성 구조와 이식 각도를 최적화 방법을 제안한다. 근위 대퇴골의 유한요소 모델을 구축하고 스캐폴드 이식 위치를 정의했습니다. 이후 구조적 거동을 분석하고, 이 분석을 기반으로 다공성 구조와 이식 각도를 최적화했습니다. 결과는 최적의 스캐폴드 매개변수가 이식 위치에 따라 다르다는 것을 보여줍니다. 최적화된 스캐폴드는 외부 하중에 대한 기계적 적응성이 향상되었으며, 이는 부위별 스캐폴드 설계의 필요성을 강조합니다.

Fixed grid is a method of discretizing a defined design domain into a grid of a fixed size and superimposing the shape of the structure onto the grid to construct a finite element model. This method is effective for designing structures such as vibration test jigs with complex shapes. This study proposes an optimization method for a fixed grid-based vibration test jig using a genetic algorithm. To achieve this, a rib structure within the jig was designed using a fixed grid. The genetic algorithm was applied as the optimization technique, and the objective function was to maximize the natural frequency, while the constraint was to limit the total weight of the jig. As a result, a dome-shaped vibration test jig was successfully derived through a single optimization process.

고정 격자는 정의된 설계 영역을 일정한 크기의 격자로 이산화하고, 해당 격자에 구조물의 형상을 중첩하여 유한요소 모델을 구성하는 방법이다. 해당 방법은 복잡한 형상의 진동 시험용 지그와 같은 구조물 설계에 효과적이다. 본 연구는 유전 알고리즘을 활용한 고정 격자 기반 진동 시험용 지그의 최적화 방법을 제안한다. 이를 위해 고정 격자를 이용해 지그 내 리브 구조를 설계하였다. 최적화 기법으로는 유전 알고리즘을 적용하였으며, 목적함수는 고유 진동수의 최대화이고, 제약조건은 지그의 총 무게를 제한하였다. 그 결과, 단일 최적화 과정을 통해 돔 형태의 진동 시험용 지그를 성공적으로 도출하였다.

Contact conditions play a critical role in ensuring consistency between experimental and numerical results. However, in assembled structures such as press-fit components, uncertainties in the contact region make it difficult to define accurate contact conditions in finite element models. To address this challenge, this study proposes a contact region identification method based on frequency response data. The proposed approach employs a genetic algorithm–based optimization scheme to search for contact regions that yield high agreement with the target frequency response. To validate the method, a simplified model was constructed, and frequency responses corresponding to randomly assigned contact regions were used as reference data. The proposed technique successfully identified the target contact region, demonstrating its effectiveness in improving the correlation between experimental measurements and numerical analyses.

접촉 조건은 실험과 해석 간의 정합성 확보에 있어 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 그러나 끼워맞춤 방식의 조립품과 같은 구조물에서는 접촉 영역의 불확실성이 커서 유한요소 모델에서 이를 정의하는 데 한계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해 주파수 응답 데이터를 활용한 접촉부 탐색 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 유전 알고리즘 기반 최적화를 통해 목표 주파수 응답과 높은 정합성을 갖는 접촉부를 탐색한다. 제안한 기법의 검증을 위해 단순 모델을 구축하고 무작위 접촉부에서의 주파수 응답을 기준으로 기법을 적용하였다. 그 결과, 목표 접촉부를 성공적으로 식별할 수 있었다. 이는 본 기법이 실험 및 해석 정합성 향상에 효과적인 도구로 활용될 수 있음을 보여준다.

Vibration test jigs are widely used to evaluate the dynamic characteristics of structures. Increasing the stiffness of a jig can improve test accuracy, but it also leads to excessive weight. To address this issue, the jig can be lightweighted by reducing the rib thickness. While conventional optimization techniques such as genetic algorithms can be applied to this problem, they often require significant computational effort and become inefficient when dealing with discrete design variables. This study proposes an orthogonal array–based optimal rib thickness design method to overcome these limitations. The proposed method selects an appropriate orthogonal array for rib thickness combinations, performs finite element analysis, and identifies ribs with low structural contribution through influence analysis to determine the final thickness configuration. To validate the proposed approach, both the orthogonal array–based method and a genetic algorithm–based method were applied to a vibration test jig, and the resulting optimal designs were compared. The results show that the orthogonal array–based method produced a rib-reduction pattern similar to that of the genetic algorithm while significantly reducing the number of analyses and computational time required. These findings demonstrate that orthogonal arrays offer an efficient and practical alternative for determining rib thickness in vibration test jig design.

진동 시험용 지그는 구조물의 동적 특성을 평가하기 위해 널리 사용된다. 정확한 시험을 위해 지그의 강성을 증대하는 경우, 과도한 중량이 발생하게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해 리브 두께를 감소시켜 경량화 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 이를 위해 유전 알고리즘과 같은 기존의 최적화 기법을 적용할 수 있으나, 많은 계산량을 요구하고 이산 설계 변수를 가지는 문제에서는 비효율적이라는 한계가 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 한계를 극복하기 위해 직교배열 기반 최적 두께 결정법을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 리브 두께 조합을 위한 직교배열을 선정하고, 유한 요소 해석을 수행한 뒤, 영향도 분석을 통해 구조적 기여도가 낮은 리브를 식별하여 두께 설계안을 도출한다. 제안된 기법의 검증을 위해 진동 시험용 지그에 직교배열 기반 최적 두께 결정법과 유전 알고리즘 기반 최적 두께 결정법을 적용하고 각 기법의 최종 설계안을 비교하였다. 그 결과, 직교배열 기반 최적 두께 결정법을 통해 도출된 최종 설계안은 유전 알고리즘 기반 최종 설계안과 유사한 리브 감소 패턴을 도출하면서도 필요한 해석 횟수와 계산 시간을 크게 줄일 수 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 직교배열이 진동 시험 지그의 리브 두께 설계를 위한 효율적이고 실용적인 대안임을 보여준다.

This paper is based on the concept that bones are structurally reorganized according to the direction in which the applied load acts according to Wolff's Law. When three representative load conditions that occur in everyday life were set and combined, it was confirmed that the trabecular bone arrangement was formed similar to the actual anatomical structure using phase optimization. In this seminar, the contents are analyzed focusing on the phase optimal design method used in this paper and the structural differences found by load conditions. Through this, we aim to understand the structure of bones and to increase our understanding of phase optimal design when writing papers in the future.

본 논문은 Wolff’s Law에 따라 뼈는 가해지는 하중의 작용하는 방향에 따라 구조적으로 재형성된다는 개념을 기반으로 한다. 일상생활에서 발생하는 세 가지 대표 하중 조건을 설정하고 조합했을 때, 이를 위상 최적화를 사용하여 해면골 배열이 실제 해부학적 구조와 유사하게 형성됨을 확인했다. 본  세미나에서는 논문에서 사용된 위상 최적설계 방법과 하중 조건별로 나타난 구조적 차이를 중심으로 내용을 분석하고자 한다.  이를 통해 뼈의 구조에 대한 이해하고 앞으로 논문을 작성할 때 위상최적설계에 대한 이해도를 높이는 것을 목표로 한다.

The lumbar spine bears the greatest load of body weight, making it larger and thicker than other vertebrae. However, it is also the site where conditions like degenerative disc disease frequently occur, and has therefore been the subject of many studies. To address these issues, Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion (OLIF), which allows direct access to the intervertebral disc without injuring the spinal canal and reduces damage to muscles, ligaments, and bone structures, is increasingly used. Accordingly, this seminar intends to introduce research related to OLIF and, based on the literature, explore future directions for research development.

요추는 체중을 지탱하는 가장 큰 역할을 하므로, 다른 척추뼈에 비해 크기가 가장 크고 두껍다. 하지만 퇴행성 디스크와 같은 질환이 흔하게 일어나는 곳이며, 지금까지 많은 연구 대상이 되어 왔다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 척추관 손상 없이 추간판에 직접 접근할 수 있고 근육, 인대 및 골 구조의 손상을 줄여주는 OLIF가 많이 쓰인다. 따라서 본 세미나는 OLIF와 관련된 연구 소개를 하고 관련 문헌들을 참고하여 향후 연구 발전 방향을 탐색하고자 한다.

FBS(FRF-Based Substructuring) is a method that predicts the overall response of a system by dividing into subsystems and combining their FRFs. This approach is effective when the subsystems are connected by point contacts. however, real structures often involve line or surface contacts such as interference-fit joints. To construct an FBS model for such structures, a point contact equivalence process is required. In this study, code based on genetic algorithm was developed to approximate the line or surface contacts of a washing machine cabinet as point contacts. Before applying this code across the full frequency range, it was necessary to a limited frequency range to verify its proper functionality. Accordingly, this seminar aims to introduce the contact region identification algorithm and present the preliminary results obtained from selected frequency ranges.

FBS(FRF-Based Substructuring)는 전체 시스템을 서브시스템으로 분리한 뒤, 각 서브시스템의 FRF를 조합하여 전체 응답을 예측하는 기법이다. 이 방법은 점접촉으로 연결된 경우에 유효하지만, 실제 구조물은 끼워맞춤 방식의 결합과 같이 선 또는 면 접촉으로 구성된 경우가 많으며, 이러한 구조물의 FBS 모델을 생성하기 위해서는 점접촉 등가 과정이 필요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 세탁기 Cabinet의 선 또는 면 접촉부를 점접촉으로 등가화하기 위해 유전 알고리즘 기반 코드를 개발하였다. 해당 코드를 사용하여 전체 주파수 영역에서 탐색을 수행하기 전, 일부 구간에서 시험적으로 적용하여 해당 코드가 정상적으로 작동하는지 확인하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서, 본 세미나는 접촉부 탐색 알고리즘 소개와 함께 일부 주파수 구간에서 접촉부 탐색 코드를 수행한 결과를 소개하는 것을 목표로 한다.

In vibration test jig design for automotive headlamps, it is difficult to satisfy both the target natural frequency and mass constraints. To address this, our laboratory applied optimization to jig design. However, this method is divided into multiple stages and requires long analysis time. In addition, there is a problem that the jig topology cannot be defined at once. To complement this, using a fixed grid can reduce the number of design variables and shorten the analysis time. However, this has the limitation of exploring only fixed topologies. Therefore, this study proposes a variable grid optimization method that adds grid spacing as a design variable to explore diverse topologies. In this seminar, we will share information on the application method of the variable grid and its results.

차량 헤드램프 진동 시험용 지그 설계에서 목표 고유진동수와 질량 제약을 만족하는 것이 어려워 지고 있다. 이에 본 연구실은 최적설계를 활용하여 지그를 설계하였다. 다만, 이 방법은 여러 단계로 나뉘어 있어 해석시간이 많이 소요된다. 또한 지그의 위상을 한번에 정의할 수 없는 문제가 있다. 이를 보완하기 위해 고정 그리드를 활용한다면, 설계변수를 줄여 해석시간을 단축시킬 수 있다. 하지만 이는 고정된 위상만을 탐색할 수 있다는 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 고정 그리드에 간격변수를 추가하여 다양한 위상을 탐색할 수 있는 가변 그리드 최적설계법을 제안한다. 본 세미나에서는 가변 그리드 적용 방법에 대한 설명과 적용 결과에 대해 정보를 공유하고자 한다.

Topology optimization is a mathematical method for finding the most efficient material distribution within a given design space. It is widely used in many fields today due to its effectiveness. However, learning and applying topology optimization requires a significant amount of time and study. The presenter needs to quickly understand this method and apply it in their research within a limited time. To help with learning, Sigmund developed a simple educational tool called the "99 Line Code". This code implements the entire topology optimization process in a compact way, allowing users to understand key concepts and experience the core techniques involved. In this presentation, the presenter will study the full structure and algorithm of the 99 Line Code, explore the numerical methods and optimization techniques used in each step, and share the findings with others.

위상최적설계는 주어진 설계 공간 내에서 가장 효율적인 재료 분포를 결정하는 수학적 방법이다. 이러한 방법은 현재 다양한 분야에서 활발히 사용되고 있다. 그러나 위상최적설계를 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서는 상당한 학습 시간이 요구된다. 본 발표자는 제한된 시간 내에 위상최적설계를 빠르게 이해하고 이를 연구에 활용할 필요가 있다. Sigmund는 위상최적설계 학습을 위한 교육용 코드인 99 Line Code를 개발한 바 있다. 이 코드는 위상최적설계의 전체적인 과정을 간결하게 구현하고 있어, 핵심 개념과 사용되는 주요 기술들을 직관적으로 이해하고 경험할 수 있도록 도와준다. 이에 본 발표자는 99 Line Code의 전체 구조와 알고리즘 흐름, 그리고 각 과정에서 활용되는 수치해석 및 최적화 기법들을 학습하고, 그 내용을 정리하여 공유하고자 한다.

The practical test of the Mechanical Engineer License evaluates proficiency in CAD, with CATIA, SolidWorks, and Inventor being the main programs used. Among these, Inventor is most commonly adopted in the exam environment, making it essential for examinees to understand the reasons behind its selection. This seminar compares the scope, advantages, and limitations of each CAD program, and analyzes why Inventor is predominantly utilized in the test. Through this discussion, the seminar aims to provide examinees with practical insights to choose the right CAD tool and establish effective study strategies for the exam.

일반기계기사 실기 작업형 시험은 CAD 활용 능력을 평가하는 시험으로, 대표적으로 CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor가 사용된다. 이 중 시험 환경에서는 주로 Inventor가 선택되며, 수험생 입장에서 그 이유를 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 본 세미나는 각 CAD 프로그램의 적용 범위와 장단점을 비교하고, 특히 시험에서 Inventor가 널리 활용되는 배경을 분석한다. 이를 통해 수험생들이 작업형 시험 준비 시 효율적인 CAD 선택과 학습 방향을 설정하는 데 도움을 주고자 한다.

With the recent acceleration of modularization in industry, research on weight reduction in gearbox housings is actively underway. Gearbox housings balance the reaction forces generated by gears and protect the internal transmission system. Previous research has focused on dynamic analyses (vibration and noise). However, no studies have examined structural safety and weight reduction under static load conditions. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce a static load-based lightweight design study, building on prior research on gearbox housings to improve vehicle fuel efficiency.

최근 산업에서 모듈화가 가속함에 따라 기어박스 하우징의 경량화 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 기어박스 하우징은 기어에서 발생하는 반력을 균형 있게 전달하고 내부 변속기 시스템을 보호한다. 기존 연구에서는 동적 해석(진동, 소음)을 중심으로 연구를 했다. 그러나 정적 하중 조건에서는 구조적 안전성과 경량화를 수행한 연구가 없다. 따라서 본 세미나는 차량 연비 향상을 위해 기어박스 하우징의 선행 연구를 바탕으로 정적 하중 기반 경량화 설계 연구를 소개하고자 한다.

Computer use is essential in engineering research, and selecting a programming language that can enhance research efficiency and productivity is emerging as a crucial task. MATLAB with its numerical analysis and programming capabilities, enables efficient engineering problem solving, and its powerful visualization tools facilitate intuitive understanding of research results. Python on the other hand, is rapidly gaining popularity in research settings due to its simple grammar structure, rich libraries, low learning cost, and excellent expandability across diverse fields. Therefore, this seminar will compare and analyze the functional characteristics and use cases of MATLAB and Python, and propose effective selection and utilization strategies for engineering research.

공학 연구에서 컴퓨터 활용은 필수적이며, 연구 효율성과 생산성을 높일 수 있는 프로그래밍 언어의 선택이 중요한 과제로 부각되고 있다. MATLAB은 수치해석과 프로그래밍 기능을 바탕으로 공학적 문제를 효율적으로 해결할 수 있으며, 강력한 시각화 도구를 통해 연구 결과를 직관적으로 이해할 수 있다는 장점을 가진다. 반면 Python은 단순한 문법 구조와 풍부한 라이브러리를 기반으로 학습 비용이 낮고, 다양한 분야로의 확장성이 뛰어나 최근 연구 환경에서 빠르게 확산되고 있다. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 MATLAB과 Python의 기능적 특성과 활용 사례를 비교 분석하여, 공학 연구에서의 효과적인 선택과 활용 전략을 제시하고자 한다.

Despite advances in medical imaging technology, limitations remain in accurately reproducing bone microstructure. To address this issue, high-resolution reconstruction based on topology optimization has been proposed, with a region of interest (ROI) approach enabling more efficient analysis. However, image quality degradation occurs at the boundaries of the ROI, where trabecular bone microstructure is unclearly represented. This study quantitatively evaluated the clarity of trabecular bone microstructure and the similarity to a reference model according to the distance from the ROI boundary. The results showed that both measures were low near the boundary but converged at distances greater than approximately 600 μm, demonstrating a trend consistent with Saint-Venant’s principle. Therefore, this seminar introduces the research process and aims to provide a basis for enhancing the reliability of ROI-based high-resolution reconstruction.

최근 의료 영상 기술의 발전에도 불구하고 골 미세구조를 정밀하게 재현하기에는 여전히 한계가 존재한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 위상 최적 설계 기반 고해상화 기법이 제안되었으며, 특히 관심영역(Region of Interest, ROI) 접근을 통해 효율적인 분석이 가능하다. 그러나 ROI 경계 부근에서는 골 미세구조가 불분명하게 표현되는 품질 저하 문제가 발생한다. 본 연구는 이러한 문제를 규명하기 위해 ROI 경계로부터의 거리 변화에 따른 명확도와 기준 모델과의 유사도를 정량적으로 평가하였다. 그 결과, 약 600 μm 이상의 거리에서 두 지표가 안정적으로 수렴하는 경향을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이는 Saint-Venant의 원리와 유사한 현상으로 해석된다. 따라서 본 세미나는 이러한 연구 과정을 소개하고, ROI 기반 고해상화 연구의 신뢰성을 높이기 위한 근거를 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

FRF-Based Substructuring (FBS) is a technique that predicts the overall system response by dividing the system into subsystems and combining their frequency response functions (FRFs). This method is valid when the subsystems are connected through point contacts; however, in practice, many structures involve line or surface contacts, such as press-fit joints. Therefore, it is necessary to approximate these contacts as equivalent point contacts in order to construct an FBS model. Based on this need, the present study focuses on the washing machine cabinet, where line and surface contacts are approximated as point contacts. A genetic algorithm is employed to perform this point-contact equivalence. Accordingly, this seminar aims to introduce the developed code for point-contact equivalence of cabinet joints using a genetic algorithm.

Due to the increasing size of headlamps, it is becoming increasingly difficult to design jigs for vibration testing that meet the target natural frequency and mass requirements. Therefore, our lab is developing an optimal design program for vibration testing jigs. However, existing optimal designs are performed in multiple stages, including main ribs and reinforcing ribs, resulting in a large number of design variables and time required. We plan to simplify the design using a fixed grid and then proceed with a variable grid. This seminar will share the progress of the variable grid optimal design.

§헤드램프 진동 시험용 지그는 헤드램프의 대형화로 인해 목표 고유진동수 및 질량을 충족하는 설계가 어려워 지고 있다. 이에 우리 연구실 에서는 진동 시험용 지그 최적설계 프로그램을 제작 중에 있다. 다만 기존 최적설계는 메인리브, 보강리브 등 여러 단계에 걸쳐 최적설계가 수행되어 많은 양의 설계 변수 및 수행 시간이 소요된다. 이를 고정 격자를  이용하여 설계를 단순화 하고 나아가 가변 그리드를 이용하여 설계를 진행하고 자 한다.  본 세미나는 가변 그리드 최적설계의 진행상황 을 공유 하고자 한다.

Bone scaffolds are artificial structures designed to replace damaged bone tissue, support external mechanical loads, and promote bone regeneration. These structure simultaneously has a mechanical and biological stimuli once implanted in vivo, and these stimuli apply as critical factor to promote bone reaeration. However, these stimuli limited to directly observe and analyze how to effect in vivo. So, there is need to analyze these interactions using quantitative approach which computational mechanics. To address this problem, I want to develop simulation method for bone tissue organization based on design optimization according to artificial scaffold implantation. To achieve this purpose, there are need to learn knowledge about optimization, fluid and biomechanics. Therefore, this seminar amie to establish research planning and introduce for development of simulation method for bone tissue organization.

골용 스캐폴드는 손상된 골 조직을 대체하여 외부 하중을 지지하고, 골 재생을 유도하는 인공 지지체이다. 해당 구조물은 생체 내에 삽입되어 기계적 자극과 생물학적 자극을 동시에 받게 되며, 이러한 자극들은 골 재생을 촉진하는 주요한 요인으로 작용한다. 그러나 이러한 자극이 실제 생체 내에서 어떻게 작용하는지를 직접 관찰하고 분석하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 전산역학을 활용한 비침습적 접근법이 필요한 상황이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 발표자는 스캐폴드 삽입에 따른 최적설계 기반 골 조직화 과정 모사법을 개발하고자 한다. 이러한 목표를 달성하기 위해서는 최적설계, 유체역학, 생체역학 등 다양한 학문의 지식을 필요로 한다. 따라서 본 세미나에서는 골 조직화 과정 모사법 개발을 위한 연구 계획을 수립하고 이러한 내용을 공유하고 한다.  

SQP are methods that simplify nonlinear constrained optimization problems into first- and second-order approximations, respectively, and then sequentially solve QP subproblems to converge to the optimal solution. To implement them in code, one must combine elements such as linearization, second-order approximation, numerical differentiation, Move limits, and BFGS. However, due to the lack of consistent step-by-step implementation examples, it can be challenging to know where to start. In this presentation, the procedure was modularized based on the algorithmic steps from the textbook, making the coding process more straightforward. Based on this approach, SQP were implemented in MATLAB and applied to nonlinear constrained examples, with the aim of sharing the working principles and application procedures of the two methods.

SQP는 비선형 제약 최적화를  2차 근사로 단순화해 QP 부문제를 순차적으로 풀어 최적해에 수렴시키는 방법이다. 코드로 구현하려면 선형화, 2차 근사, 수치 미분, Move limit, BFGS 같은 요소들을 조합해야 한다. 그러나 단계별로 일관된 구현 예시가 없어 어떤 방식으로 시작할지 난관이 있다. 본 발표자는 교재의 알고리즘 단계를 기준으로 절차를 모듈화 하여 보다 쉽게 코딩 작업을 수행하였다. 이를 바탕으로 SQP를 MATLAB으로 구현하고 비선형 제약 예제에 적용하여, 두 기법의 작동 원리와 적용 절차를 공유하고자 한다.

A simply  beam is the most basic type of beam with supports at both ends, and it is a suitable model for understanding the basic concepts of solid mechanics. The purpose of solid mechanics is to obtain the stress, strain, and displacement caused by loads acting on structures and their members. In particular, deflection analysis in beam structures plays an important role in the design and safety evaluation of actual structures. However, deflection analysis involves complicated equations and can vary depending on the conditions, making theoretical calculation difficult. Therefore, in this seminar, deflection analysis of a simply supported beam using MATLAB and a 3D visualization code will be introduced, and the results will be shared by implementing a GUI that intuitively visualizes the structural behavior according to the conditions entered by the user.

단순보는 양쪽 끝이 지지된 가장 기본적인 보 형태로, 고체역학의 기본 개념을 이해하는 데 적합한 모델이다. 고체역학의 목적은 구조물과 그 부재에 작용하는 하중에 의한 응력, 변형률 및 변위를 구하는 것이다. 특히 보 구조에서의 처짐 해석은 실제 구조물의 설계와 안전성 평가에 있어 중요한 요소로 작용한다. 그러나 처짐 해석은 수식이 복잡하고 조건에 따라 달라질 수 있어 이론적으로 계산하는 데 어려움이 따를 수 있다. 따라서 본 세미나에서는 MATLAB을 활용하여 단순보의 처짐 해석과 3D로 시각화한 코드를 소개하고, 이를 GUI로 구현하여 사용자가 입력한 조건에 따라 구조적 거동을 직관적으로 시각화한 결과를 공유하고자 한다.

Mechanics of materials is a field of study that analyzes the behavior of deformable bodies under various loads in a state of equilibrium, with bending and buckling being the most critical considerations in structural design. To prevent such phenomena, it is essential to analyze the structural behavior and develop appropriate design strategies. However, due to the complex geometries and diverse boundary conditions of real structures, computer-based numerical analysis is often required. Therefore, this seminar presents MATLAB-based codes for analyzing the bending of an aircraft wing and the buckling of a building column, and introduces their implementation in a GUI that enables intuitive visualization of structural behavior based on user-defined input conditions.

However, even though a lot of time has passed since the research was conducted, it has not yet been organized into a paper. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce method for composing effectively the paper of patient-specific bone scaffold optimization for the proximal femur.

본 발표자는 직교배열을 사용하여 진동 시험용 지그의 리브 두께 최적화 연구를 수행한 바 있음. 해당 연구는 C2 헤드램프와 T1 헤드램프의 진동 시험용 지그의 리브를 최적화하기 위해 직교배열을 사용하고, 해당 방법을 검증하기 위해 유전 알고리즘을 사용하여 동일한 조건에서 최적화를 수행함. 이를 통해 성공적으로 직교배열 기반 최적화 기법의 성능을 검증하였으며, 해당 연구를 바탕으로 논문을 작성 중임. 직교배열 기반 리브 두께 최적화 연구의 논문 구성을 소개하고, 이를 향후 논문 작성에 활용할 수 있도록 논문 구조를 설명하는 것을 목표로 함.

본 발표자는 근위 대퇴골을 대상으로 한 환자 맞춤형 골용 스캐폴드 최적화 연구를 수행한 바 있음. 본 연구의 목표는 근위 대퇴골의 다양한 위치에서 골용 스캐폴드의 다공성 구조를 최적화하고, 동시에 이식 각도를 함께 고려함. 다만, 연구를 수행한 지 시간이 많이 지났음에도 아직 논문으로 정리하지 못한 상태임. 따라서 본 세미나는 여름 방학 기간 중 논문 투고를 목표로, 환자 맞춤형 골용 스캐폴드 최적화 연구에 대한 논문을 효과적으로 구성하고 작성하는 방법을 공유하고자 함.

In real-world optimization problems, it is often not enough to simply minimize or maximize a certain value—such problems frequently involve multiple constraints that must be satisfied. For instance, practical problems such as mechanical design, resource allocation, and economic modeling require finding optimal solutions within the limits of physical constraints, regulations, or resource restrictions.
The traditional Lagrange multiplier method only deals with equality constraints, making it insufficient for problems with more complex constraint structures. Therefore, this seminar aims to explain the theoretical background and mathematical formulation of the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, an extended approach, and to help participants understand how to solve constrained optimization problems by applying KKT to practical examples.

현실의 최적화 문제들은 단순히 값을 최소화하거나 최대화하는 것에 그치지 않는 경우가 많으며, 반드시 만족해야 할 여러 가지 제약조건을 포함하는 경우가 많다. 예를 들어 기계설계 자원 배분, 경제 모델링 등 실무 문제들은 물리적 한계나 규정, 자원 제한 등의 조건 아래에서 최적의 해를 찾아야 한다. 기존의 라그랑지 승수법은 등호 제약만을 다루기에 복잡한 제약조건을 가진 문제에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 이를 확장한 KKT(Karush-Kuhn-Tucker) 조건의 이론적 배경과 수학적 정식화 과정을 설명하고, 이를 실제 최적화 예제에 적용하여 복잡한 제약조건을 포함한 문제를 해결하는 방법을 통해 이해를 돕고자 한다.

This seminar calculates and visualizes the deflection of simply supported and cantilever beams using MATLAB to support easier understanding and analysis.

Vinyl greenhouses are widely used by many farmers due to their low installation costs and ease of construction. However, unexpected heavy snowfall each year has caused significant damage to agricultural facilities, with annual losses exceeding 300 billion KRW. Notably, approximately 78% of this damage is attributed to structural collapses caused by heavy snow. As temporary structures, vinyl greenhouses are required to meet disaster-resistance standards set by the Rural Development Administration. Accordingly, research on structural safety assessments and reinforcement methods has been continuously conducted. Nevertheless, there is a lack of studies that apply reinforcement structures to commonly used greenhouse types and analyze the resulting structural behavior. Therefore, this study aims to analyze and compare four commonly used greenhouse shapes, identify optimal reinforcement points to minimize displacement for each type, and determine the model that exhibits the smallest overall displacement. 

비닐하우스는 설치 비용이 저렴하고 시공이 간편하여 많은 농가에서 널리 사용되고 있는 온실 구조물이다. 그러나 매년 예상보다 많은 적설량으로 농업인들이 많은 피해를 보고 있으며, 해마다 연간 3천억 이상의 대규모 피해가 반복되고 있다. 특히, 이러한 피해의 약 78%는 폭설로 인한 구조물 붕괴가 주요 원인으로 분석되고 있다. 비닐하우스는 가설 구조물로서 농업진흥청에서 제시한 내재해 기준을 충족해야 하며, 이를 위한 구조 안전성 평가 및 보강에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 이루어져 왔다. 다만, 실제로 널리 사용되는 구조물에 보강 구조를 적용하고 그에 따른 구조적 거동을 분석한 연구는 미비한 상황이다. 따라서 본 연구는 일반적으로 많이 사용하는 4가지 비닐하우스 형상을 대상으로, 각 형상별 변위를 최소화할 수 있는 보강 지점을 도출하여 분석 비교하고 가장 변위가 작은 모델을 도출하고자 한다.

Optimal design problems require the simplification of nonlinear functions, such as objective functions and constraints. Taylor series expansions are used to approximate these functions with lower-order polynomials, thereby simplifying complex problems and facilitating analysis. This approach not only enhances computational efficiency but also enables more accurate predictions of function behavior as design variables change. This seminar introduces the fundamental concepts of Taylor series and, through practical examples, demonstrates their application in the formulation of optimal design. It is expected that students will gain a foundational understanding of optimal design and benefit from practical learning support.

In the development process of washing machines, ensuring consistency between simulation and experimental results is essential for the effective application of finite element analysis. However, it is often challenging to accurately represent the contact regions in the washing machine during simulation, which leads to reduced correlation between analysis and experimental. To address this issue, research is being conducted to improve correlation by optimizing the contact point region. For optimization to be effective, the problem formulation must be appropriately defined, as it plays a critical role in the performance of the optimization process. This study applies various problem formulations to a simplified model and compares the results to determine the most suitable formulation. Accordingly, the goal of this seminar is to present the different problem formulations used in the contact point region optimization of a simplified model and analyze their outcomes.

This presenter will introduce the meaning and overall flow of 99 Code and explain the principles of each code. Through this, we hope to enhance the lab's understanding of topology optimization and enhance MATLAB coding skills.

In the automotive industry, lightweight design is becoming increasingly important to improve fuel efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The drive shaft, a key component that transmits engine power to the wheels, contributes to overall vehicle weight reduction when optimized. This study analyzes effective stress and safety factors by setting the inner diameter of the drive shaft as a variable. It evaluates structural stability and lightweight potential based on changes in diameter ratio. A simulation model applying material properties and boundary conditions is used for analysis. The ultimate goal is to enhance fuel efficiency through optimized lightweight design.

자동차 산업은 화석 연료 가격 상승과 온실가스 배출로 인해 차량 연비 향상이 요구된다. 이에 따라 연비 향상을 위해 차량 구동축에 대한 경량화 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 구동축은 일반적으로 원형 단면을 가진 회전 부재이며, 엔진에서 발생한 동력과 회전 운동을 바퀴나 기계의 작동 부위로 전달하는 데 사용된다. 구동축은 구조적으로 필수 부품이므로 대량 생산 시 전체 차량 경량화에 기여할 수 있다. 연구 모델을 선정하여 물성치와 경계 조건 등을 적용하여 내경을 파라미터로 설정하고 유효 응력을 확인할 것이다. 또한 유효 응력을 통해 경량화 목적에 따라 안전율 기준에 적합한지 확인할 것이다. 따라서 구동축의 내경을 파라미터로 설정하고, 직경비에 따른 안전율 분석을 통해 경량 설계를 도출하여 차량 연비 향상에 기여하고자 한다.

Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a graphical system that allows users to interact with programs intuitively. It has the advantage of real-time confirmation of input and output, error detection, and visualization of results, allowing easy handling of complex functions. Using this GUI environment, an optimal design automation program for a vibration test jig was developed, and the program ran without any functional problems. However, there is room for improvement in terms of intuitiveness and user convenience. Therefore, this seminar aims to share the main points of improvement and the execution process of the program.

Genetic Algorithm is widely used as one of the representative methods for searching for optimal design solutions. Our lab has also developed various modules based on genetic algorithm and conducted research. However, in order to accurately understand genetic algorithm and effectively apply it to research, learning about the implementation method and application procedure in the MATLAB environment should be done first. Therefore, in this presentation, we will introduce a method of applying genetic algorithm using MATLAB. Through this, we expect that lab members will be able to more easily utilize genetic algorithm in future research.

Damage to greenhouses caused by natural disasters occurs every year, with 64% of the damage attributed to heavy snowfall. Although the Rural Development Administration has developed and distributed disaster-resistant greenhouse models to prepare for natural disasters, cases of structural failure continue to be reported annually. Moreover, the frequency of natural disasters is expected to increase due to climate change. Therefore, this seminar aims to explain the loading and boundary conditions used in structural analysis to evaluate the structural stability of greenhouses, and to share directions for future research.

비닐하우스는 설치비용이 저렴하고 시공성이 우수하여 많은 농가에서 사용되고 있다. 다만, 외부 하중에 쉽게 붕괴되는 구조적으로 매우 취약한 구조물이다.  자연재해로 인한 비닐하우스의 피해는 매년 발생하고 있으며 대설에 의한 피해가 64%를 차지하고 있다. 현재 농촌진흥청에서는 자연재난에 대비한 내재해형 비닐하우스 모델을 개발 및 보급하였으나, 매년 파손 사례가 나오고 있다. 또한 기상이후로 인한 자연재난 발생이 향후에는 더욱 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 비닐하우스의 구조해석을 통해 구조적 안정성을 평가하기 위해 하중조건 및 구속조건을 설명하고 추후 연구에 대해 공유하고자 한다.

Modern engineering technology is constantly becoming faster and more precise, and is often faced with phenomena that cannot be explained by simple classical mechanical analysis alone. For example, GPS positioning errors require compensation for time delays caused by differences in relative speed and altitude between the satellite and the ground, and the theory of relativity is used in practice to solve this. In addition, signal transmission delays in high-speed sensors require an understanding of signal speed (the speed of light) for accurate distance calculation. These physical concepts are based on the assumption that the speed of light is always constant, that is, the law of constancy of the speed of light. Therefore, this seminar will examine the theoretical background and logic behind the law of constancy of the speed of light, which is the starting point of the theory of relativity. If you take an interest in physical mechanics and study it, you are expected to be able to design more accurate and stable systems.

A drive shaft is typically a rotating member with a circular cross-section that transmits power and rotational motion in various types of machinery and mechanical equipment. However, drive shafts are constantly subjected to repetitive loads, which can lead to failure over time. In order to predict the lifespan and ensure the safety of components such as drive shafts, it is essential to establish boundary conditions through finite element analysis (FEA). The setup of boundary conditions directly affects the accuracy of the analysis results. Therefore, this seminar aims to analyze previous studies related to drive shaft analysis and derive applicable boundary conditions to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the analysis model.

Automotive head lamps have different shapes depending on the vehicle, requiring the development of a new type of jig for vibration testing with each new design. Designing jigs that meet vibration test conditions is challenging, requiring expertise and significant time. A GUI-based automated program was developed to address this issue. Although the program is developed for non-expert users, it still requires knowledge of optimization. Therefore, this seminar aims to implement a simple mode of a GUI-based automation program for the optimal design of a vibration test jig and share its operating process.

Vibration analysis is a method used to understand the dynamic behavior of a structure under various loads that change over time or frequency. In particular, it plays a critical role in verifying design feasibility during the early stages of product development and helps reduce both cost and development time. To achieve reliable vibration analysis, it is essential to model the real-world conditions accurately and fully capture the interaction between the vibration source and the structure. In order to simulate vibration responses that closely reflect reality, realistic joint conditions must be established. Therefore, this seminar proposes an analysis technique based on the blocked force method that enables quantitative prediction of the dynamic response of actual structures.

진동 해석은 시간 혹은 주파수에 따라 변화하는 다양한 하중에 대해 구조물의 동적 특성을 파악하는 해석 방법임. 특히, 제품 개발 초기 단계에서 설계의 타당성을 검증하고, 비용 및 시간을 절감하는 데 기여함. 이에 신뢰성 진동 해석을 위해서는 진동원과 구조물 간의 실제 상호작용을 완전하게 모사하기 위해서는 실제 조건을 반영한 모델링이 필요함. 실제 기반의 진동 응답 모사를 위해서는 실제와 유사한 연결부 조건을 생성해야 함. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 차단력 기반의 실제 구조물의 동적 응답을 정량적으로 예측할 수 있는 해석 기법을 제안함.

Mesh refers to the grid of nodes and elements in a CAD model, and is an important element that greatly affects the analysis results and analysis time. However, if the model contains a complex shape, the mesh may be generated unnecessarily densely, which may cause problems such as increased analysis time and increased memory usage. To solve this, a simplification operation is required to remove parts of the model that do not affect the analysis. In particular, the cabinet of a washing machine has a complex shape, so unnecessary meshes are likely to be generated. This may increase the analysis time and memory usage, and model simplification is required to prevent this. Therefore, the purpose of this seminar is to simplify the washing machine cabinet and compare the generated meshes.

A Graphical User Interface (GUI) allows users to interact with software through visual elements, making programs easier to use. It helps users check inputs and outputs more intuitively and detect errors in real time, which is especially helpful when dealing with complex systems. These advantages are particularly important for users without technical backgrounds. This study focuses on the simple-mode GUI currently being developed for a vibration testing jig based on optimal design. Since most users of this program are non-experts with little or no engineering knowledge, they may find it difficult to recognize input mistakes or system errors. Therefore, this seminar analyzes the current issues in the simple-mode GUI and proposes improvements to make it more user-friendly and accessible.

Graphical User Interface (GUI) is a graphical interface that allows users to directly interact with a computer. Each component is organically connected to the internal code, so that appropriate responses and feedback are provided in real time according to the user's input. Thanks to this structure, users can easily operate the program using only visual elements such as buttons or icons without having to know complex commands or codes. In this way, GUI does not expose complex internal operations to users, and provides an environment that anyone can intuitively access. However, engineers like us need to have an accurate understanding of the structure and core functions and design capabilities to implement this interface. Therefore, in this seminar, we will introduce the basic functions and code composition methods of GUI, and share the operating process through a case study of implementing a rectangular cross-section optimal design module for a cantilever beam based on a genetic algorithm in a GUI environment.

During my time in the lab, I often found myself thinking deeply about my future career. While focusing on research is important, I constantly wondered how those experiences could be connected to my long-term career path. I believe many others in the lab may be having similar thoughts. Recently, I went through the interview process with LS ELECTRIC, and both during and after the interviews, I received positive feedback and encouraging responses. This reassured me that the direction I had been preparing for wasn’t wrong, and it made me want to share my interview preparation experience. Preparing for the interviews also gave me a chance to reflect on myself and organize my thoughts, which I found to be extremely helpful. Through this seminar, I hope to share my experience preparing for the interview and, hopefully, provide some motivation and encouragement to others in the lab.

연구실 생활을 하며 진로에 대한 고민이 많았음. 연구에 집중하는 것도 중요하지만, 그 경험들이 커리어와 어떻게 연결될 수 있을지 항상 고민함. 해당 상황은 연구실 구성원들도 비슷한 고민이 있을 거라 예상됨. 최근 LS ELECTRIC의 면접 과정 중 그리고 후에도 좋은 피드백과 긍정적인 반응을 들을 수 있었음. 이에 준비했던 방향이 틀리지 않았다는 생각이 들어 면접 준비 과정을 공유하고자 함. 또한, 면접을 준비하며 스스로를 정리해볼 수 있는 시간이기도 하였으며, 해당 과정이 매우 도움되었음. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 면접 준비 과정에 대해 공유하고, 연구실 구성원들에게 동기 부여가 되었으면 함.

The cabinet, one of the components that make up a washing machine, forms the exterior of the washing machine. The cabinet consists of a total of six individual parts, assembled through joint methods such as snap-fitting. However, when these joints are modeled as line contact or surface contact in simulations, the stiffness of the cabinet tends to be overestimated compared to the actual structure. This discrepancy leads to differences between simulation and experimental results, ultimately reducing the reliability of the analysis. It is expected that this issue can be resolved by equivalently modeling these line or surface contacts as point contacts. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce a study focused on developing a technology to equivalently model the joints of the six cabinet components as point contacts.

Data on a computer can be lost for various reasons. This loss can cause problems such as loss of important information and service interruption. In fact, recently, there was a problem where data on our lab's homepage was lost one after another. However, it took a lot of time to normalize the homepage because accurate backup and recovery were not performed. Therefore, regular backup and recovery are essential to prevent such problems. This seminar will explain and share the backup and recovery methods for the CAD LAB homepage. Through this, we expect that all lab members will be able to solve problems caused by data loss without panicking.

발표란, 발표 자료를 활용하여 새로운 정보, 연구 계획, 연구 가치 등을 제시하고 설명하는 행위임. 이러한 과정에서 발표 자료는 정보 전달 및 청중의 이해를 돕고 설득하는 중요한 역할을 함. 잘 만들어진 발표자료는 깔끔한 레이아웃, 보기 좋은 폰트, 조화로운 색 조합으로 이루어짐. 이 중 레이아웃과 폰트는 대부분 정해져 있는 반면, 색 조합은 비교적 자유로움. 하지만 조화로운 색 조합을 위해서는 색상 간 관계, 심리적 요소, 개인적인 감각 등 다양한 조건을 고려해야 함. 따라서 본 세미나에서는 색 조합의 원칙을 소개하고, 누구나 쉽게 색 조합을 할 수 있도록 온라인 도구를 활용하는 방법을 소개하고자 함. 이를 통해 연구실 인원이 보다 깔끔하고 조화로운 발표 자료를 만들 수 있을 것으로 기대됨.

Buckling is a phenomenon in which a structure undergoes sudden instability and deformation when subjected to compressive loads, significantly impacting its safety and durability. Understanding and preventing buckling requires analyzing the structural behavior and developing appropriate design strategies. This seminar will introduce the concept of buckling and its underlying causes, explaining the theoretical approaches to addressing this issue. Additionally, various case studies will be examined to explore buckling analysis methods, and design strategies for ensuring structural stability will be discussed.

좌굴은 구조물이 압축 하중을 받을 때 갑작스럽게 불안정한 형태로 변형되는 현상으로, 구조물의 안전성과 내구성에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 이러한 좌굴 현상을 이해하고 방지하기 위해서는 구조물의 거동을 분석하고 적절한 설계 방안을 마련하는 것이 필수적이다. 본 세미나에서는 좌굴의 개념과 그 발생 원리를 소개하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 좌굴이론을 설명한다. 또한, 다양한 사례를 통해 좌굴 해석 방법을 살펴보고, 안정성을 확보하는 설계 전략을 논의하는 것을 목표로 한다.

Recently, we started the 3rd year project with SL. One of the considerations for the project is how to have the partner company use the GUI and optimal design module that we delivered to SL. We are currently considering using this by purchasing a license in the form of a token from ANSYS. However, this method has the problem of high cost. Therefore, a new method that can share the GUI created through this project is needed. MATLAB web serve is a method of uploading the GUI code written in MATLAB to the web and using it. Therefore, this presenter would like to introduce MATLAB web server and how to use it.

최근 SL과의 3차 년도 과제를 시작하였다. 해당 과제의 고려 사항 중 하나로 SL 측에 전달한 GUI 및 최적설계 모듈을 협력사에서 이용하는 방법이 있다. 현재는 이를 ANSYS를 토큰 형식으로 라이선스를 구입하여 이용하는 방법을 고려하고 있다. 다만, 이 방법은 비용이 많이 발생하는 문제가 있다. 이에 본 과제를 통해 제작한 GUI를 공유 가능한 새로운 방법이 필요하다. MATLAB web serve은 MATLAB에서 작성한 GUI 코드를 web상에 올려 사용하는 방법이다. 따라서 본 발표자는 MATLAB web server에 대해 소개하고 이를 이용하는 방법에 대해 소개 하고자 한다.

Recently, because of enlargement of vehicle lamps, test jigs of lamps has increase in the weight and natural frequency. To address this issue, an automated optimization module for test jigs is being developed. In the jig optimization process, thickness optimization is one of important methods. because It is easy to improve weight and nature frequency to change ribs thickness. Therefore, Developing thickness optimization module can enhance the performance of the automated optimization program. In thickness optimization, rib can have three possible thickness value. which is discrete variable. Discrete variable problems can be solved using an orthogonal array. Therefore, this seminar aims to explain orthogonal arrays and introduce a methodology for thickness optimization using this approach.

최근 차량용 램프의 대형화로 인해 시험용 지그의 무게가 증가하고, 이에 따라 고유진동수가 감소하는 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 진동 시험용 지그의 최적설계를 자동화하는 모듈을 개발 중이다. 지그 최적설계 과정에서 지그의 두께 최적화는 주요 리브와 보강 리브의 두께를 조절하여 간단하게 지그의 무게와 고유진동수를 개선할 수 있는 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 따라서 두께 최적설계 모듈을 개발하면 최적설계 자동화 프로그램의 성능을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있다. 두께 최적설계에서 리브가 가질 수 있는 두께 값은 총 세 가지이며, 이는 이산 변수에 해당한다. 이산 변수를 가지는 최적화 문제는 직교배열을 활용하여 해결할 수 있다. 따라서 본 세미나에서는 직교배열을 설명하고, 이를 활용한 두께 최적설계 방법론을 소개하는 것을 목표로 한다.

The presenter is currently conducting a project on 3D CAE-based noise and vibration analysis using Blocked Force. After performing modal correlation analysis of the substructures, the entire 3D washing machine model is constructed by connecting the structures. The accuracy of the constructed model is evaluated by comparing the simulation results of mode shapes. The substructures are connected using Springs, Dampers, and Gaskets, which serve as connection elements based on dynamic stiffness. The elements used for assembly must incorporate dynamic stiffness derived from the provided data. Therefore, this seminar introduces the method for selecting and implementing appropriate elements that can apply dynamic stiffness based on the given data.

본 발표자는 Blocked Force를 활용한 3D CAE 기반 소음 및 진동 해석 과제를 수행중임. 하위 구조물의 모드 상관성 분석 이후 구조물들을 연결하여 세탁기 전체 3D 모델을 구축함. 모드 형상 비교를 통해 구축 모델의 해석 결과를 비교함. 각 하위 구조물의 연결은 Spring, Damper, Gasket을 통해 연결됨. Spring, Damper, Gasket은 동강성(Dynamic Stiffness)을 기반한 연결부 요소임. 이때, 결합에 사용되는 요소에는 제공받은 데이터를 기반하여 동강성이 부여되어야 함. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 제공된 데이터를 기반으로 동강성을 부여할 수 있는 적절한 요소를 선정 및 구현하는 방법에 대해 소개함.

Throughout this experience, the presenter has observed common patterns in both successful and unsuccessful paper submissions. This presentation aims to share strategies for overcoming challenges in writing and responding to reviewers during the publication process. In particular, the presenter will highlight key lessons learned from past failures and demonstrate how these insights led to successful outcomes. Practical strategies that can be applied to real-world academic publishing will be introduced. Through this presentation, students will gain effective methods to improve their chances of publishing their research successfully.

This is necessary for designing machines and evaluating the stability of structures. Therefore, it’s necessary to study materials mechanics to analyze the structural behavior of deformable bodies. Through this, the goal of this seminar is to provide basic concepts and examples based on the structural behavior of deformable objects. In particular, SLP (Sequential Linear Programming) and SQP (Sequential Quadratic Programming) are widely used optimization methods in various fields. However, these two techniques follow different principles to perform optimization, each having distinct characteristics and advantages, making it crucial to choose the appropriate method depending on the situation. To achieve this, a precise understanding of the operational principles of each optimization method is necessary. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce the differences and characteristics of SLP and SQP by directly implementing these methods using MATLAB.

The reliability of the model is evaluated by comparing the mode shapes and natural frequencies between the experimental data and the simulation data. For the modal analysis and validation of the entire structure, the substructures need to be assembled. In this process, the elements used for the assembly must be assigned dynamic stiffness. Dynamic stiffness determines how the system responds to external loads or vibrations. Therefore, this seminar introduces the method of applying elements using APDL Command.

The paper received a total of 18 comments from three reviewers, and the presenter plans to draft responses to these comments. This seminar will begin with an overview of the review outcomes and then provide a detailed explanation of the process of drafting and organizing responses to each comment. The seminar aims to demonstrate how to effectively address diverse perspectives and incorporate them into comprehensive responses. Additionally, the presenter will share valuable insights and lessons learned from the manuscript review process with the attendees.

The Discovery function of ANSYS Workbench is a tool that provides differentiated functions in the design and simulation process. This function is a tool that allows engineers to easily analyze structural, fluid, and thermal behaviors in the early design stage through simulation. In addition, Discovery can modify design changes more easily than existing programs and quickly derive optimal design methods. This allows engineers to save cost and time by minimizing unnecessary work in the product development process. Therefore, this seminar introduces the use of simulation using ANSYS Discovery and compares the numerical differences between the results analyzed by existing methods and the results using Discovery to share the impact of this tool on design and analysis efficiency.

The femur is the longest and strongest bone in the human body, playing an essential role in maintaining normal daily activities and mobility. As Korean society transitions into a super-aged society, the incidence of femoral fractures among the elderly population is increasing. This has become a major cause of osteoporosis and various complications. To address these issues, research on femoral treatment methods and a foundational understanding are necessary. Therefore, this seminar aims to introduce the structure and function of the femur based on studies related to it.

대퇴골은 인체에서 가장 길고 단단한 뼈이다. 이는 정상적인 생활과 활동에 있어 필수적인 역할을 한다. 한국 사회가 초고령 사회로 접어들면서 노령 인구의 대퇴골 골절률이 증가하고 있다. 이는 골다공증과 다양한 합병증의 원인이 된다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 대퇴골 치료법에 대한 연구와 기초적인 학습이 필요한 상황이다. 따라서, 본 세미나에서는 대퇴골과 관련된 논문을 바탕으로 대퇴골의 구조와 기능에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

Recently, we have developed a vibration test jig optimal design module in our lab. This module has the advantage that even those who lack expertise in optimal design can easily design vibration test jigs optimally. However, in order to use this module, knowledge of optimal design is not necessary, but guidelines for use are needed. Therefore, this seminar will introduce guidelines for using the optimal design module. We expect that anyone will be able to use the module easily through this.

The author has submitted a paper on “Comparison of structural behavior following bone scaffold implantation in multi-resolution proximal femur images”. The paper received a total of seven comments from two reviewers. The author is currently drafting responses to the comments. Due to the variety of perspectives raised, drafting the responses has been challenging. This seminar will provide an overview of the review process and explain the response preparation in detail. Through this seminar, the author aims to share experiences from the manuscript review process with the attendees.

The presenter is currently conducting a project with LG on the topic of "Development of Noise and Vibration Prediction Technology Using Blocked Force and FBS." In the second year, other students will also participate in the project. Therefore, it is necessary to share the project overview and progress. Thus, this seminar aims to present the current status and progress of the ongoing project. In particular, the study focuses on improving the reliability of analysis through modal correlation analysis of substructures and the entire model and deriving an optimized prediction methodology.

A systematic understanding of the test's structure and preparation strategies is essential to achieving the desired score. Therefore, this seminar aims to help participants prepare for the test effectively by providing an introduction to the TOEIC Speaking test, its structure, main types, and preparation strategies.

토익 스피킹은 실무와 일상에서 필요한 영어 회화 능력을 평가하는 시험이다. 이는 회화 능력을 판단하는 중요한 기준 중 하나로 활용된다. 원하는 성적을 얻기 위해서는 시험의 구성과 준비 전략을 체계적으로 이해하는 것이 필수적이다. 따라서 본 세미나는 토익 스피킹 시험의 소개, 구성, 주요 유형, 준비 전략에 대해 제시하여 참가자들이 효과적으로 시험을 준비할 수 있도록 돕는 것을 목표로 한다.

As automotive lamps become larger, the mass of jigs for lamp testing also increases to meet target natural frequencies. This makes jig transportation and installation more challenging, increasing the difficulty of testing. Traditional jig design has relied on the intuition and experience of designers, limiting the scope and outcomes of design. To address this, this study aims to develop an automated optimization module for vibration test jig design based on mathematical theory and computer computation. The module is developed in three steps: (1) preprocessing, (2) optimization of the main rib design and (3) optimization of the reinforcement rib design. The preprocessing module determines the design area of the ribs and the initial positions of the main ribs, which significantly influence the optimization results. This seminar aim to share improvements of preprocessing module to maximize the optimization results and analyze the results achieved by applying these improvements.

자동차 램프의 대형화에 따라 램프 시험용 지그의 질량도 목표 고유진동수를 충족시키기 위해 증가하고 있다. 이로 인해 지그의 이동과 설치가 어려워지고 시험 난이도도 높아지고 있다. 지금까지 지그 설계는 설계자의 직관과 경험에 의존해왔고, 이는 설계 범위와 결과를 제한했다. 본 연구는 이를 해결하고자, 수학적 이론과 컴퓨터 연산을 기반으로 진동 시험용 지그의 최적설계 자동화 모듈을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 모듈은 (1) 전처리, (2) 주요 리브 최적 설계와 (3) 보강 리브 최적설계의 세 단계로 진행된다. 특히 전처리 모듈은 리브 설계 영역과 주요 리브의 초기 위치를 결정하여 최적 설계 결과에 큰 영향을 미치는 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 세미나에서는 최적 설계 결과 극대화를 위한 전처리 모듈의 개선 사항을 공유하고 개선 사항이 적용된 결과를 분석한다.

Multipurpose transport vehicles are designed to safely load and transport cargo in various work environments. For these vehicles to operate reliably, the vehicle frame must possess sufficient structural rigidity to withstand the intended design load. However, the frames of vehicles currently in use fail to meet these design specifications, leading to structural deformation during loading. This seminar aims to share the results of the optimized design of the frame structure, which has improved structural stability.

다목적 운반 차량은 다양한 작업 환경에서 화물을 안전하게 적재하고 운송할 수 있도록 설계된 차량이다. 이러한 차량이 안정적으로 운행되기 위해서는, 차량 프레임이 설계된 목표 적재량을 견딜 수 있는 구조적 강성을 갖추어야 한다. 그러나 현재 사용 중인 차량의 프레임은 이러한 설계 요구 사항을 충족하지 못하고 있어, 적재 시 구조적 변형이 발생하고 있는 상황이다. 따라서 본 세미나는 구조적 안정성을 향상시킨 프레임 구조의 최적설계 결과를 공유하고자 한다.

To address the issues of increased weight and decreased natural frequencies due to the recent scaling up of jigs, an automated optimization module for vibration test jigs is being developed. Jigs generated through this optimization automation module are evaluated based on the analysis results of optimized jigs in ANSYS WORKBENCH. As a result, ANSYS WORKBENCH users also need to understand the code used within the automation module. However, since the current optimization automation module is divided into multiple sub-modules, it is challenging for users to learn effectively. Therefore, this seminar aims to facilitate the learning process by introducing two newly added components of the optimization automation module: the reinforcing rib generation module and the bolting point generation module.

최근 지그의 대형화로 인한 무게 증가와 고유진동수 감소 문제를 해결하기 위해 진동 시험용 지그의 최적설계 자동화 모듈을 제작하고 있다. 최적설계 자동화 모듈을 통해 생성되는 지그는 ANSYS WORKBENCH에서 최적설계를 통해 생성된 지그의 해석 결과를 바탕으로 평가된다. 이에 WORKBENCH 사용자도 자동화 모듈에 사용되는 코드를 학습할 필요가 있다. 그러나 현재 최적설계 자동화 모듈은 여러 모듈로 나누어져 있어 복잡하기 때문에 학습에 어려움이 있다. 이에 본 세미나는 모듈 학습이 원활할 수 있도록 최적설계 자동화 모듈에 새롭게 추가된 보강 리브 생성 모듈과 볼팅 포인트 생성 모듈을 소개하는 것을 목표로 한다.

The layout examples are organized around the research on the design and performance evaluation of jigs for vibration testing, and the influence of various connection methods and the importance of accurate modeling are discussed. In addition, the problems of various bolt connection analysis models are pointed out, and the goal is to derive the most similar modeling method through comparison with the experimental results using actual jigs.

본 발표자료는 MDPI 논문 레이아웃 작성법을 공유하고, 이를 바탕으로 구성된 레이아웃 작성 예시를 제공합니다. 진동 시험용 지그의 설계 및 성능 평가에 관한 연구를 중심으로 레이아웃 예시가 구성되어 있으며, 다양한 연결 방식의 영향과 정확한 모델링의 중요성에 대해 논의합니다. 또한, 다양한 볼트 연결 해석 모델의 문제를 지적하고, 실제 지그를 이용한 실험 결과와의 비교를 통해 가장 유사한 모델링 방법을 도출하는 것을 목표로 합니다.

Since cracks significantly influence material damage and failure, predicting crack paths in advance is crucial. However, conventional methods require high computational time and costs, and there is a lack of validation against experimental results. Thus, this study proposes a novel method using the Dijkstra algorithm to predict crack paths based on strain energy. The proposed method was applied to two models: spent nuclear fuel cladding and the proximal femur. The predicted crack paths for each model showed high accuracy when compared with experimental data and conventional prediction methods. This demonstrates the potential of the proposed method for predicting crack paths in various structures.

균열은 재료의 손상과 파괴에 중요한 영향을 미치기 때문에 사전에 균열 경로를 예측하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 그러나 기존의 방법들은 높은 시간과 계산 비용을 요구하며, 실험 결과와의 검증이 미비하다. 이에 본 연구는 변형률 에너지 분포를 기반으로 균열 경로를 예측하기 위해 다익스트라 알고리즘을 활용한 새로운 방법론을 제안한다. 제안된 방법론은 두 가지 모델, 사용후핵연료 피복관과 근위 대퇴골 적용되었으며, 각 모델에 대한 예측된 균열 경로는 실험적 데이터 및 기존의 예측 방법과 비교하여 높은 정확성을 보였다. 이를 통해 본 연구에서 제안한 방법론이 다양한 구조물의 균열 경로 예측에 적용될 수 있는 잠재력을 지니고 있음을 입증하였다.

Patient-specific load estimation is essential for analyzing changes and behavior in an individual patient's bone structure to ensure accurate medical diagnosis and treatment planning. However, previous studies have focused on predicting overall femur load, failing to reflect the detailed load distribution in specific regions, which limits accuracy. To address this, the present study proposes a method to predict patient-specific loads for specific regions of interest (ROI) in the femur using optimization. A finite element (FE) model is constructed based on the patient’s femur images, and the optimal load conditions that maximize the load dependency score (LDS) are determined. In the verification and validation process, the accuracy of the load prediction was evaluated using synthetic femur models generated under both single and multiple load conditions. The predicted loads were then applied to reconstruct the bone microstructure and compared with reference models. In this seminar, the validation results will be shared, and we will discuss how the proposed method improves the accuracy and validity of load estimation compared to the reference model.

환자 맞춤형 하중 예측은 개별 환자의 골 구조 변화와 거동을 분석하여 정확한 의료 진단 및 치료 계획을 수립하는 데 필수적이다. 그러나 기존 연구들은 대퇴골 전체를 대상으로 한 하중 예측에 중점을 두어, 각 부위별 세부적인 하중 분포를 반영하지 못해 정확도에 한계가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해, 본 연구는 최적설계를 이용하여 대퇴골의 특정 관심 영역에 대한 환자 맞춤형 하중을 예측하는 방법을 제안한다. 환자의 대퇴골 이미지를 기반으로 유한 요소(FE) 모델을 생성하고, 하중 의존도(LDS)를 최대화하는 최적의 하중 조건을 도출한다. 검증 과정에서는 단일 및 복합 하중 조건에서 생성된 인공 대퇴골 모델을 활용해 하중 예측의 정확도를 평가하고, 이를 통해 예측된 하중을 골 미세 구조 재건에 적용하여 기존 모델과 비교하였다. 본 세미나에서는 이 검증 결과를 공유하며, 제안된 방법이 기존 방식보다 하중 예측의 정확성과 유효성을 논의할 예정이다.

The TOEIC Speaking test, in particular, is a representative test that objectively assesses the speaking skills required in real-world work settings. Therefore, this seminar will provide strategies for achieving target scores and practical preparation methods. Specifically, we will focus on understanding the scoring criteria for each section and strengthening practical skills through time management and repetitive practice. Through this, we expect participants to gain confidence in speaking English and achieve their desired English scores.
